The Secretary of State is hereby authorized and directed to\n\ntake measures necessary for the preservation and care of the\n\noriginal State Constitution.\n\nB. Except as otherwise provided by subsection C of this\n\nsection, the original State Constitution or its replica, and other\n\nhistorically significant artifacts and documents, shall be publicly\n\ndisplayed in an area to be designated by the Secretary of State in\n\nthe State Capitol Building. The display area shall be under the\n\njurisdiction and control of the Secretary of State.\n\nC. The Secretary of State is authorized to elect an alternate\n\nsecure location on state-owned property for the preservation or\n\nexhibition of the original State Constitution if the display of the\n\noriginal document in the State Capitol Building would place the\n\ndocument at risk for damage from heat, cold, light, moisture or\n\nother environmental factors which in the judgment of the Secretary\n\nof State requires display or storage of the original document in an\n\nalternate location.","path":["OK Code","Title 74"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os74.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"346ceabdcf6b9c15793785be445e1a99d492711bbec1317fd2fdcd84a51ef0d0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-661.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-662.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
