It is the intent of the Oklahoma Legislature to honor all\n\nindividuals and specifically Oklahomans who served in the Armed\n\nForces of the United States during World War II, the many who died,\n\nand those who supported the war effort from home by committing to\n\ncontribute to the construction of a World War II memorial to be\n\nlocated in Washington, D.C.\n\nB. If funds are made available for such purpose, the Department\n\nof Veterans Affairs shall provide an amount of not less than Two\n\nHundred Sixty-five Thousand Dollars ($265,000.00) to the World War\n\nII memorial, which represents approximately One Dollar ($1.00) for\n\nevery person from Oklahoma who served in the war.\n\nC. The Department may accept contributions of money on behalf\n\nof Oklahoma World War II veterans from veterans’ organizations or\n\nother private organizations, entities, or persons to meet the\n\nstate’s commitment as set forth in subsection B of this section for\n\nthe construction of the World War II memorial. The Department may\n\nrequest contributions from the Oklahoma Historical Society, the\n\nOklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, the State Regents for\n\nHigher Education, the Department of Human Services, and any other\n\nstate agency or public entity the Department deems appropriate.\n\nD.
