Stat. tit. 74, § 74-840-1.14","heading":"Attorney General as legal counsel - Opinions to","body":"officers or employees - Representation of Commission - Conflict of\n\ninterest - Appointment of alternate counsel.\n\nWhen any officer or employee of the state is in doubt as to the\n\napplication of the Oklahoma Personnel Act as to himself or to any\n\nemployee under his supervision, he may submit to the Attorney\n\nGeneral a full written statement of the facts and questions he may\n\nhave. The Attorney General shall then render an opinion to such\n\nperson and may publish these opinions, or abstracts thereof, with\n\nthe use of the name of the person advised unless such person\n\nrequests otherwise in writing. The Attorney General shall be the\n\nlegal counsel for the Oklahoma Merit Protection Commission and\n\nrepresent it when its decisions are appealed to higher courts. The\n\nOffice of the Attorney General shall be legal counsel for and\n\nrepresent the Merit Protection Commission notwithstanding its\n\nrepresentation of any other state department, agency, board or\n\ncommission in the same or related matters pending before the Merit\n\nProtection Commission or before any court. The Attorney General\n\nshall establish internal administrative procedures to ensure that\n\nboth such agencies are provided independent legal representation,\n\nand such simultaneous representation shall not, of itself, be deemed\n\nto constitute a conflict of interest.
