Stat. tit. 74, § 74-840-1.3","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act, unless otherwise provided in Sections 840-\n\n1.1 through 840-6.9 of this title:\n\n1. \"Agency\" means any office, department, board, commission or\n\ninstitution of the executive branch of state government;\n\n2. \"Employee\" or \"state employee\" means an elected or appointed\n\nofficer or employee of an agency unless otherwise indicated;\n\n3. \"Appointing authority\" means the chief administrative\n\nofficer of an agency;\n\n4. \"Job-related organization\" means a membership association\n\nwhich collects annual dues, conducts annual meetings and provides\n\njob-related education for its members and which includes state\n\nemployees, including any association for which payroll deductions\n\nfor membership dues are authorized pursuant to paragraph 5 of\n\nsubsection B of Section 34.70 of Title 62 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n5. \"Progressive discipline\" means a system designed to ensure\n\nthe consistency, impartiality and predictability of discipline and\n\nthe flexibility to vary penalties if justified by aggravating or\n\nmitigating conditions;\n\n6. \"Supervisor\" means an officer or employee who has been\n\nassigned authority and responsibility for evaluating the performance\n\nof subordinates;\n\n7. \"Director\" means the appointing authority of the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services;\n\n8. \"Office\" means the Office of Management and Enterprise\n\nServices; and\n\n9. \"Veteran\" means a person who has been honorably discharged\n\nfrom the Armed Forces of the United States.","path":["OK Code","Title 74"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os74.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f4c254f9c9e21e06dd7dc3901f114020ac6566fa2800459eb5ae44ffc13f79d9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-840-1.20","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-840-1.6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
