Stat. tit. 74, § 74-905","heading":"Board of Trustees","body":"(1) There shall be a Board of Trustees which shall consist of\n\nfourteen (14) members as follows and all appointees shall serve\n\ntheir terms at the pleasure of the appointing authority and may be\n\nremoved or replaced without cause: a member of the Corporation\n\nCommission or the Commission's designee selected by the Corporation\n\nCommission, the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise\n\nServices or the Director's designee, the State Insurance\n\nCommissioner or the Commissioner's designee, the Director of Human\n\nCapital Management of the Office of Management and Enterprise\n\nServices, a member of the Oklahoma Tax Commission selected by the\n\nTax Commission, the State Treasurer or the Treasurer's designee,\n\nthree members appointed by the Governor, one member appointed by the\n\nSupreme Court, two members appointed by the Speaker of the House of\n\nRepresentatives and two members appointed by the President Pro\n\nTempore of the State Senate. One member appointed by the Governor\n\nshall be an active member of the System. One member appointed by\n\nthe Speaker shall be an active member of the System. One member\n\nappointed by the President Pro Tempore shall be a retired member of\n\nthe System.\n\n(2) The member of the Board of Trustees on July 1, 1988, who\n\nwas appointed by the Supreme Court shall complete the term of office\n\nfor which the member was appointed. The members thereafter\n\nappointed by the Supreme Court shall serve terms of office of four\n\n(4) years.\n\n(3) Members of the Board of Trustees on July 1, 1988, who were\n\nappointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives or by the\n\nPresident Pro Tempore of the Senate shall complete their term of\n\noffice for which they were appointed. The initial term of office of\n\nmembers appointed thereafter shall expire on January 8, 1991. The\n\nmembers thereafter appointed by the Speaker of the House of\n\nRepresentatives and by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate shall\n\nserve terms of office of four (4) years.\n\n(4) The initial term of office of the members appointed by the\n\nGovernor shall expire on January 14, 1991. The members thereafter\n\nappointed by the Governor shall serve a term of office of four (4)\n\nyears which is coterminous with the term of office of the office of\n\nthe appointing authority.\n\n(5) One of the members appointed to the Board by the Speaker of\n\nthe House of Representatives and by the President Pro Tempore of the\n\nSenate and two members appointed to the Board by the Governor shall:\n\n(a) have demonstrated professional experience in\n\ninvestment or funds management, public funds\n\nmanagement, public or private pension fund management\n\nor retirement system management,\n\n(b) have demonstrated experience in the banking profession\n\nand have demonstrated professional experience in\n\ninvestment or funds management,\n\n(c) be licensed to practice law in this state and have\n\ndemonstrated professional experience in commercial\n\nmatters, or\nn\n\ninvestment or funds management, public funds\n\nmanagement, public or private pension fund management\n\nor retirement system management,\n\n(b) have demonstrated experience in the banking profession\n\nand have demonstrated professional experience in\n\ninvestment or funds management,\n\n(c) be licensed to practice law in this state and have\n\ndemonstrated professional experience in commercial\n\nmatters, or\n\n(d) be licensed by the Oklahoma Accountancy Board to\n\npractice in this state as a public accountant or a\n\ncertified public accountant.\n\nThe appointing authorities, in making appointments that conform\n\nto the requirements of this subsection, shall give due consideration\n\nto balancing the appointments among the criteria specified in\n\nparagraphs (a) through (d) of this subsection.\n\n(6) No member of the Board of Trustees shall be a lobbyist\n\nregistered in this state as provided by law.\n\n(7) Any vacancy that occurs on the Board of Trustees shall be\n\nfilled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the office was\n\npreviously filled.\n\n(8) Notwithstanding any of the provisions of this section to\n\nthe contrary, any person serving as an appointed member of the Board\n\non July 1, 1988, shall be eligible for reappointment when the term\n\nof office of the member expires.\n\n(9) The Board shall elect one of its members as Chairman of the\n\nBoard at its annual meeting.
