Except as otherwise provided by this section, any person\n\nreceiving retirement benefits from the Oklahoma Public Employees\n\nRetirement System as of June 30, 2001, who continues to receive\n\nbenefits on or after July 1, 2002, shall, beginning in July 2002,\n\nreceive an increase in retirement benefits equal to five percent\n\n(5%).\n\nB. Any person who is otherwise eligible for the benefit\n\nincrease provided in subsection A of this section, who retired from\n\nthe System with not less than twenty-five (25) years nor more than\n\ntwenty-nine (29) years of service, shall receive, in lieu of the\n\nbenefit increase provided in subsection A of this section, an\n\nincrease in retirement benefits equal to five and five-tenths\n\npercent (5.5%) beginning July 2002.\n\nC.
