Stat. tit. 76, § 76-100","heading":"Beginning of limitations period - Separate claims for","body":"nonmalignant conditions and cancer.\n\nA. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, with respect to\n\nany asbestos or silica claim not barred as of the effective date of\n\nthis act, the limitations period shall not begin to run until the\n\nexposed person or claimant discovers, or through the exercise of\n\nreasonable diligence should have discovered, that the exposed person\n\nor claimant is physically impaired as set forth in this chapter by\n\nan asbestos- or silica-related condition.\n\nB. An asbestos or silica claim arising out of a nonmalignant\n\ncondition shall be a distinct cause of action from an asbestos or\n\nsilica claim relating to the same exposed person arising out of\n\nasbestos- or silica-related cancer, and resolution of an asbestos or\n\nsilica claim arising out of a nonmalignant condition shall not\n\naffect the ability of the same exposed person to bring a separate\n\nasbestos or silica claim arising out of an asbestos- or silica-\n\nrelated cancer, that otherwise meets all the requirements of\n\nSections 6 or 7 of this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 76"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os76.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"618f0752716d182d2b4d75de05688e499f42751d8f75cf6fc1f2437fb64542bd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-76-76-10.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-76-76-100.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
