A person engages in a deceptive trade practice when in the\n\ncourse of business, vocation, or occupation, the person:\n\n1. Passes off goods or services as those of another;\n\n2. Knowingly makes a false representation as to the source,\n\nsponsorship, approval, or certification of goods or services;\n\n3. Knowingly makes a false representation as to affiliation,\n\nconnection, association with, or certification by another;\n\n4. Uses deceptive representations or designations of geographic\n\norigin in connection with goods or services;\n\n5. Knowingly makes a false representation as to the\n\ncharacteristics, ingredients, uses, benefits or quantities of goods\n\nor services or a false representation as to the sponsorship,\n\napproval, status, affiliation, or connection of a person therewith;\n\n6. Represents that goods are original or new if they are not;\n\n7. Represents that goods or services are a particular standard,\n\nquality, or grade, or that goods are a particular style or model, if\n\nthey are another;\n\n8. Disparages the goods, services, or business of another by\n\nfalse or misleading representation of fact;\n\n9. Advertises goods or services which differ from those offered\n\nfor sale in the advertisements;\n\n10. Advertises goods or services with intent not to supply\n\nreasonably expectable public demand, unless the advertisement\n\ndiscloses a limitation of quantity;\n\n11. Makes false or misleading statements of fact concerning the\n\nreasons for, existence of, or amounts of price reductions;\n\n12. Advertises the price of an item after deduction of a rebate\n\nunless the actual selling price is advertised and clear and\n\nconspicuous notice is given in the advertisement that a mail-in\n\nrebate is required to achieve the lower net price;\n\n13. Misrepresents the geographic location of the supplier by\n\nlisting a fictitious business name or an assumed business name in a\n\nlocal telephone directory if:\n\na. the name misrepresents the geographic location of the\n\nsupplier,\n\nb. the listing fails to identify the locality and state\n\nof the business of the supplier,\n\nc. calls to the local telephone number are routinely\n\nforwarded or otherwise transferred to a business\n\nlocation that is outside the calling area covered by\n\nthe local telephone directory, or\n\nd. the business location of the supplier is located in a\n\ncounty that is not contiguous to a county in the\n\ncalling area covered by the local telephone directory;\n\n14. Lists a fictitious business name or assumed business name\n\nin a directory assistance database if:\n\na. the name misrepresents the geographic location of the\n\nsupplier,\n\nb. calls to the local telephone number are routinely\n\nforwarded or otherwise transferred to a business\n\nlocation that is outside the local calling area, or\n\nc. the business location of the supplier is located in a\n\ncounty that is not contiguous to a county in the local\n\ncalling area; or\n\n15. Violates any provision of the Revised Uniform Athlete\n\nAgents Act.\n\nB. Evidence that a person has engaged in a deceptive trade\n\npractice shall be prima facie evidence of intent to injure\n\ncompetitors and to destroy or substantially lessen competition.\n\nC.
