Conduct in compliance with the orders or rules of, or a\n\nstatute administered by, a federal, state, or local governmental\n\nagency;\n\n2. Publishers, broadcasters, printers, or other persons engaged\n\nin the dissemination of information or reproduction of printed or\n\npictorial matter who publish, broadcast, or reproduce material\n\nwithout knowledge of its deceptive character;\n\n3. Actions or appeals pending on the date that this act becomes\n\neffective; or\n\n4. Motor vehicle dealers who are new car franchise dealers\n\ncovered under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Commission Law as\n\nset forth in Sections 561 through 580.2 of Title 47 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, inclusive.\n\nB. This act shall be interpreted to apply to the use by a\n\nperson of any service mark, trademark, certification mark,\n\ncollective mark, trade name, or other trade identification which was\n\nused and not abandoned prior to the effective date of this act, if\n\nthe use was in good faith and is otherwise lawful except for the\n\nprovisions of this act.\n\nC. For purposes of paragraphs 13 and 14 of subsection A of\n\nSection 53 of this title, a telephone company or other provider of a\n\ntelephone directory or directory assistance service or its officer\n\nor agent is immune from liability for publishing the listing of a\n\nfictitious business name or assumed business name of a supplier in\n\nits directory or directory assistance database unless the telephone\n\ncompany or other provider of a telephone or directory assistance\n\nservice is the same person as the supplier who has committed the\n\ndeceptive act.","path":["OK Code","Title 78"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os78.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"68c66108bec5700ce9ebea5a9936b77db32cc4e9b247da66a04681cc94bf9797","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-78-78-54","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-78-78-56"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
