Stat. tit. 79, § 79-102","heading":"Penalties - Actions - Discovery and evidence","body":"In case any bridge or other contractor or other person,\n\npartnership, corporation or association subject to the provisions of\n\nthis article shall do or cause to be done any act, matter or thing\n\nherein prohibited or declared to be unlawful, or shall omit to do\n\nany act, matter or thing herein required to be done, such bridge or\n\nother contractor or other person, corporation or association shall\n\nbe liable to the state, municipality or person injured thereby to\n\nthree times the amount of the damages sustained in consequence of\n\nany such violation, together with a reasonable counsel or attorney's\n\nfee, to be fixed by the court in every case of recovery, which\n\nattorney's fee shall be taxed and collected as a part of the costs\n\nin the case: And in any such action brought for recovery of\n\ndamages, the court before whom the same shall be pending may compel\n\nany bridge or other contractor, partnership, corporation or\n\nassociation subject to the provisions of this article, or any\n\ndirector, officer, receiver, trustee, agent, employee or clerk of\n\nthem, or either of them, defendant in said suit to appear and\n\ntestify in such case, and may compel the production of books and\n\npapers of such bridge contractor, person, partnership, corporation\n\nor association party to said suit, no such testimony or evidence\n\nshall be used against such person in the trial of any criminal\n\nproceedings, nor shall any person so testifying be prosecuted in any\n\ncriminal proceedings for or on account of any act disclosed or\n\ndivulged by his testimony.","path":["OK Code","Title 79"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os79.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6e5908a73bca57d83f0cd776006d06f65d0bd5b1c2f68f3ecb2f04af514c5b18","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-79-79-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-79-79-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
