Stat. tit. 8, § 8-226","heading":"Depositions, witnesses and evidence","body":"(a) In any proceeding arising under this act, any member of the\n\nBoard, or any interested party, may take depositions as in civil\n\nproceedings and the Board may, on its own motion, and shall, upon\n\nrequest of any interested party, subpoena witnesses or documentary\n\nevidence, administer oaths, and examine under oath any individual\n\nrelative to any hearing or investigation under this act. The\n\nsubpoena may be served anywhere in the state and the service thereof\n\nshall not be limited to the county wherein the Board is located.\n\n(b) The subpoena shall have the same force and effect and shall\n\nbe served in the same manner as if issued from a court of record.\n\n(c) Witness fees and mileage, if claimed, shall be allowed the\n\nsame as for testimony in a court of record. Witness fees and\n\nmileage shall be paid by the Board, or by the person who requests\n\nthe hearing.\n\n(d) If any person fails to obey the subpoena, or obeys the\n\nsubpoena but refuses to testify when required, the Board shall file\n\na written report thereof and proof of service of the subpoena with\n\nthe clerk of the district court in the county where the person\n\nresides or may be.
