Stat. tit. 8, § 8-88","heading":"Disposition of bodies of deceased inmates or patients of","body":"state institutions.\n\nA. The superintendents or wardens of state correctional\n\nfacilities, of state hospitals and of state institutions are hereby\n\nauthorized and directed to remove the bodies of the deceased inmates\n\nor patients from such facilities and institutions, that are not\n\nclaimed for private burial by friends or relatives thereof within\n\nninety-six (96) hours after the death, and the superintendent or\n\nwarden of such facility or institution shall notify the friends or\n\nrelatives of the deceased inmate or patient by registered mail of\n\nthe death of the deceased inmate or patient at the last known place\n\nof residence, if known, in accordance with state law and agency\n\nrules.\n\nB. When the State Anatomical Board rejects the body of a\n\ndeceased inmate or patient, the superintendent or warden of that\n\nfacility or institution shall have the rejected body buried in lands\n\nof that facility or institution set aside for such purpose, or in\n\nsuch place authorized by law or agency rule.
