Stat. tit. 80, § 80-8","heading":"Flood control - Consent to acquisition of lands - Rights","body":"reserved - Powers ceded.\n\nThe consent of the State of Oklahoma is hereby given to the\n\nacquisition by the United States by purchase, gift, or condemnation\n\nwith adequate compensation, of such lands in Oklahoma, as in the\n\nopinion of the federal government may be needed for programs and\n\nworks of improvement for runoff and waterflow retardation and soil\n\nerosion prevention or other purposes, in the interest of flood\n\ncontrol, within the state in accordance with the programs provided\n\nfor such purpose in Section 13 of the Act of the Congress of the\n\nUnited States approved December 22, 1944, and entitled \"An Act\n\nauthorizing the construction of certain public works on rivers and\n\nharbors for flood control, and for other purposes;\" provided, that\n\nthe State of Oklahoma shall retain a concurrent jurisdiction with\n\nthe United States in and over the lands so acquired, so far that\n\ncivil process in all cases, and such criminal process as may issue\n\nunder the authority of the State of Oklahoma against any person\n\ncharged with the commission of any crime without or within said\n\njurisdiction, may be executed thereon in like manner as if this act\n\nhad not been passed. The state's concurrent jurisdiction over said\n\nlands also shall include the power to tax property and transactions\n\nnot exempt from the taxing power of the state.
