Stat. tit. 82, § 82-1021.6","heading":"Bylaws – Minimum requirements","body":"At the time and place established by the county commissioners\n\nand the county commissioners of any participating adjacent county\n\nfor the first meeting of the initial district board, the initial\n\ndistrict board shall adopt bylaws. In addition to any other\n\nprovisions normally and properly included in bylaws, the bylaws\n\nshall, at a minimum, include provisions regarding the following:\n\n1. Establishing the district's name and principal place of\n\nbusiness;\n\n2. Requiring an annual meeting of the district board and\n\nproviding that a notice of such annual meeting be given, not less\n\nthan fifteen (15) days prior to the annual meeting, in newspapers\n\nthat are published in counties within the district. If no newspaper\n\nis published in the county, the notice shall be posted in three\n\npublic places in the county, one of which shall be the county\n\ncourthouse; and\n\n3. Requiring that the initial district board pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of this section shall:\n\na. establish the composition of the district board,\n\nqualifications of the members and a process to elect a\n\nboard of directors within one (1) year of the approval\n\nof the district by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board,\n\nb. set the district board members' terms of office, and\n\nc. elect a district board member as director of the\n\ndistrict.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2c9b2e9f2a1b1d70395cdc27f955b6e2d0e818e42948316a0d08f3a2c451198a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1021.5","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1021.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
