Stat. tit. 82, § 82-105.27","heading":"Unsafe works to be changed - United States works not","body":"subject to inspection.\n\nIf the Board shall, in the course of its duties, find that any\n\nworks used for storage, diversion or carriage of water are unsafe\n\nand a menace to life and property, it shall at once notify the owner\n\nor his agent, specifying the changes necessary and allowing a\n\nreasonable time for putting the works in safe condition. Upon the\n\nrequest of any party, accompanied by the estimated cost of\n\ninspection, the Board shall cause any alleged unsafe works to be\n\ninspected. If they shall be found unsafe by the Board, the money\n\ndeposited by such party shall be refunded and the fees for\n\ninspection shall be paid by the owner of such works; and, if not\n\npaid by him within thirty (30) days after the decision of the Board,\n\nshall be a lien against any property of such owner, to be recovered\n\nby suit instituted by the district attorney of the county at the\n\nrequest of the Board. The Board may, when necessary, inspect any\n\nworks for the storage, diversion or carriage of water and require\n\nany changes necessary to secure their safety; and the fees for such\n\ninspection shall be a lien on any property of the owner and shall be\n\nsubject to collection as provided herein; provided, that any works\n\nconstructed by the United States, or by its duly authorized\n\nagencies, shall not be subject to such inspection while under the\n\nsupervision of officers of the United States.
