Stat. tit. 82, § 82-1088.12","heading":"Public policy","body":"The Legislature hereby declares that, in order to protect\n\nOklahoma citizens from increased water supply shortages and\n\ngroundwater depletions by the year 2060 in most of the eighty-two\n\nwatershed planning basins in the state as described in the 2012\n\nUpdate of the Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan, the public policy\n\nof this state is to establish and work toward a goal of consuming no\n\nmore fresh water in the year 2060 than is consumed statewide in the\n\nyear 2012, while continuing to grow the population and economy of\n\nthe state and to achieve this goal through utilizing existing water\n\nsupplies more efficiently and expanding the use of alternatives such\n\nas wastewater, brackish water, and other nonpotable supplies.\n\nProvided, however, that nothing in the Water for 2060 Act shall be\n\nconstrued as amending the provisions of law pertaining to rights or\n\npermits to use water.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c821346fe5a9d061d4cff15fcb6d89da983f5c0f18eeb1c09dc776cfe1171db7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1088.11","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1088.13"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
