Stat. tit. 82, § 82-1088.13","heading":"Oklahoma Water Conservation Grant Program - Pilot","body":"programs - Goals and objectives - Purpose - Awards.\n\nA. There is hereby created the \"Oklahoma Water Conservation\n\nGrant Program\".\n\nB. The Oklahoma Water Resources Board shall solicit proposals\n\nfor and make grants for the establishment of pilot programs which\n\nwill implement water conservation projects or plans in communities\n\nin the state.\n\nC. The goals and objectives of the grant program are to:\n\n1. Increase the awareness of the public through education\n\nprograms or public information campaigns regarding the value of our\n\nwater resources and how water can be used more efficiently;\n\n2. Provide assistance to communities or entities initiating\n\nwater conservation plans, programs, and activities and to research\n\nand document the potential for improving water use efficiency\n\nthrough demonstration projects and other activities; and\n\n3. Assist in the development of policies which will encourage\n\nthe implementation of water conservation measures.\n\nD. For purposes of this section, communities may include entire\n\ncities or towns, combined cities or towns, parts of cities or towns,\n\nor schools, groups or entities located within a community, or one or\n\nmore rural water districts or portions of water districts.\n\nE. Contingent upon the availability of funding, the Board may\n\naward grants each year in an amount not to exceed Twenty-five\n\nThousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for each grant. The total amount of\n\ngrants awarded each year shall not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars\n\n($50,000.00).\n\nF. The pilot projects shall be innovative programs that will\n\nserve as models for other communities in the state. Pilot projects\n\nmay include, but are not limited to, community conservation\n\ndemonstration projects, water use accounting programs, retrofit\n\nprojects, school education projects, Xeriscape demonstration\n\ngardens, projects which promote efficiency, recycling and reuse of\n\nwater, and information campaigns on capturing and using harvested\n\nrainwater and graywater.\n\nG. The Board shall determine pilot project criteria and\n\nestablish a process for the consideration of proposals. The\n\nproposals for pilot projects shall be considered on a statewide\n\ncompetitive basis.
