Stat. tit. 82, § 82-110.2","heading":"Legislative intent","body":"It is recognized by the Oklahoma State Legislature that properly\n\nconstructed, operated and maintained dams used to impound water and\n\ncreate reservoirs for the purposes of public and private water\n\nsupply, irrigation, industrial use, recreation, fish and wildlife,\n\nwater quality control, flood prevention and control, sediment\n\ncontrol, and other beneficial uses constitute vital parts of the\n\nState of Oklahoma's water resources, and that reasonable regulation\n\nof such construction, operation and maintenance is beneficial and\n\nnecessary for the public health and welfare and to protect lives and\n\nproperty. It is the intent of the Legislature that the provisions\n\nof this act shall reaffirm and clarify such regulation and the dam\n\nsafety program of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board already\n\nestablished and shall further provide sufficient basis for\n\ncommunities in the National Flood Insurance Program to obtain\n\nfavorable consideration of rate decreases for their citizens offered\n\nthrough the Community Rating System administered by the Federal\n\nEmergency Management Agency.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"44f922671dab7d24f67660416f5446e1632a29b32988d0866d103b76d2a183de","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-110.12","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-110.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
