Stat. tit. 82, § 82-1266","heading":"Definitions","body":"In this act unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n1. \"District\" means a regional water district organized\n\npursuant to the provisions of this act. A district is a body\n\ncorporate and an instrumentality of each of the public agencies\n\nwhich establish it by interlocal agreement;\n\n2. \"Board\" means a board of directors of a regional water\n\ndistrict organized under this act;\n\n3. \"Persons\" includes any natural person, firm, association,\n\ncorporation, business or public trust, partnership, federal agency,\n\nstate agency, state or political subdivision thereof, municipality\n\nor any body politic;\n\n4. \"Acquire\" means and includes construct, acquire by purchase,\n\nlease, devise, gift or other mode of acquisition of any interest in\n\na project or facilities;\n\n5. \"Obligation\" includes bonds, notes, debentures, interim\n\ncertificates or receipts, contracts and all other evidences of\n\nindebtedness issued by a regional water district formed under this\n\nact, including bond anticipation notes and refunding bonds;\n\n6. \"Reservoir\" means any impoundment of water through the\n\nconstruction of a dam by or under the direction and supervision of a\n\nconstructing agency;\n\n7. \"Constructing agency\" means any state, local or federal\n\nagency directing and supervising the construction of a reservoir and\n\nshall include the U.S. Corps of Engineers, Department of the Army,\n\nthe U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Department of the Interior, the U.S.\n\nDepartment of Agriculture and any other state, local or federal\n\nagency;\n\n8. \"State Board\" means the Oklahoma Water Resources Board;\n\n9. \"Public agency\" shall be as defined in the Interlocal\n\nCooperation Act, Section 1003 of Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nexcept public agencies of other states shall not be entitled to\n\nmembership in the district;\n\n10. \"Water facilities\" means and includes all facilities from\n\nthe initial source to the place for utilization of water by a public\n\nagency or person as provided in this act, including, but not limited\n\nto, all plants, systems, facilities or properties used or useful or\n\nhaving the present capacity for future use in connection with the\n\nsupply, treatment, distribution, transportation, or storage of\n\nwater, and any integral part thereof, including but not limited to\n\nwater supply systems, water distribution systems, sources of water\n\nsupply including lakes, reservoirs and wells, intakes, mains,\n\nlaterals, aqueducts, pumping stations, standpipes, filtration\n\nplants, purification plants, hydrants, meters, valves, and all\n\nnecessary appurtenances and equipment and all properties, rights,\n\neasements and franchises relating thereto and deemed necessary or\n\nconvenient by the authority for the operation thereof;\n\n11. \"Sewage\" means the water-carried wastes created in and\n\ncarried or to be carried away from residences, residential\n\nestablishments, industrial or commercial establishments or any other\n\nprivate or public building or institution together with such surface\n\nor groundwater or household and industrial wastes as may be present.\n\nSewage does not include hazardous waste as defined by Section 1-2002\n\nof Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n12. \"Sewage facilities\" means and includes any plants, systems,\n\nfacilities or properties used or useful or having the present\n\ncapacity for future use in connection with the collection,\n\ntransportation, treatment, purification, storage, processing,\n\nrelease, or disposal of sewage, including wastes resulting from any\n\nprocesses of industry, manufacture, trade or business or from the\n\ndevelopment of any natural resources, or any integral part thereof,\n\nincluding but not limited to treatment plants, pumping stations,\n\nintercepting sewers, trunk sewers, pressure lines, mains and all\n\nnecessary appurtenances and equipment, and all property, rights,\n\neasements and franchises relating thereto and deemed necessary or\n\nconvenient by the authority for the operation thereof.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"dfd80442634b21a9a01967767b55dfb4de329d8defe3a57d6f1631f8bced72a2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1142","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1267"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
