Districts formed pursuant to this act shall be operated\n\nwithout profit, but the rates, revenues, fees, rents or other\n\ncharges for water or sewage services or facilities, supplies,\n\nequipment or other services furnished by the water district shall be\n\nsufficient at all times:\n\n1. To pay all operating and maintenance expenses necessary or\n\ndesirable for the prudent conduct of its affairs and the principal\n\nof and interest on the obligations issued or assumed by the district\n\nin the performance of the purposes for which it was organized; and\n\n2. For the creation of adequate reserves.\n\nB. The revenues of the district shall be devoted, first, to the\n\npayment of operating and maintenance expenses and the principal and\n\ninterest on outstanding current obligations, and, thereafter, to\n\nsuch reserves for additional improvements, new construction,\n\ndepreciation and contingencies as the board of directors may from\n\ntime to time prescribe.\n\nC. Revenues not required for the purposes set forth in\n\nsubsection B of this section shall be returned from time to time to\n\nthe customers or public agency members of the district on a pro rata\n\nbasis, according to the amount of business done with each customer\n\nor public agency member during the period for which such return is\n\nmade, either in cash, in abatement of current charges for water, or\n\notherwise as the board determines; such return may be made by way of\n\na general rate reduction to customers or public agency members if\n\nthe board so elects.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"60ea26c4dbc85658b1d71824a5388272e9d4d57912167dabe913ce7cb8e224ae","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1274","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1276"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
