Stat. tit. 82, § 82-1324.5","heading":"Notice of filing and pendency of petition - Public","body":"hearing - Notice of hearing.\n\nWhenever a petition as provided in the preceding section is\n\nfiled with the county clerk, he shall thereupon give notice to the\n\ncounty commissioners of the filing and pendency of said petition,\n\nwhereupon, if the petition proposes the creation of a water\n\ndistrict, the county commissioners shall immediately determine from\n\nthe Oklahoma Water Resources Board whether or not there is water\n\navailable to adequately serve the proposed district, and the county\n\ncommissioners shall forthwith enter their order setting a public\n\nhearing upon said petition for a day certain and directing the\n\ncounty clerk to give notice of said hearing by legal publication for\n\ntwo (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in each county\n\ncontaining lands embraced within the boundaries of the proposed\n\ndistrict. Said newspapers must have a general circulation in the\n\ncounty of publication. Provided, however, if there is a county in\n\nwhich there is no newspaper of general circulation published, notice\n\nof such hearing shall be given by posting in five public places\n\nwithin said county, one of which shall be the county courthouse.\n\nSuch notice shall contain: a brief and concise statement describing\n\nthe purpose of such hearing; a description of the territory to be\n\nembraced within said district; a notice to all persons residing or\n\nowning property and incorporated municipalities within the proposed\n\ndistrict that they may appear upon the date and at the time and\n\nplace of said hearing to show cause, if any there be, why said\n\npetition should not be granted; and a notice to all rural residents\n\nof the proposed district that, if said district shall be ordered\n\ncreated, an organizational meeting to elect a board of directors and\n\nofficers and to adopt bylaws will be held immediately following the\n\nentry of the order creating said district.
