The board shall be the governing body of the district and\n\nshall meet annually on a date prescribed by the bylaws and at such\n\nother times as may be determined by the board or upon call by the\n\nchair or any two members of the board. Vacancies on the board shall\n\nbe filled for the unexpired term, and until such appointee's\n\nsuccessor is elected and has qualified, by appointment by the\n\nremaining members of the board. The board shall adopt such rules in\n\nconformity with the provisions of this act and the bylaws of the\n\ndistrict as are deemed necessary for the conduct of the business of\n\nthe district. It shall be the duty of the secretary to cause an\n\nentry to be made upon its records showing all of its minutes,\n\ndecisions and orders made pursuant to the provisions of this act.\n\nB. The district shall have the power to charge an amount, as\n\ndetermined by the board and approved by the members of the district,\n\nnot to exceed ten cents ($0.10) per one thousand (1,000) gallons of\n\nwater sold, to be included in the water rates for the district and\n\npaid by the retail water consumers of the district. The charge\n\nshall be approved by a majority vote of the participating members of\n\nthe district who are present at a regular or special meeting, for\n\nwhich public notice has been given and the issue is on the agenda\n\nand presented for a vote. The public notice of the meeting and\n\nelection shall state the amount of the proposed fee, the intended\n\npurpose of the fee, and the entity or entities which will receive\n\nthe monies. If approved, the board shall distribute the monies\n\nreceived from the charge to any entity or entities, except for any\n\nentity that has statutory or regulatory authority over any aspect of\n\nthe district, selected by the board for purposes that will assist or\n\naid the board in the performance of its duties for the district and\n\nwhich will benefit the area within the district or the members of\n\nthe district.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"04538b49f8e523534eb5ce8742c9148c3a0d42a7d952151fef80af8064f8803c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1324.8","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
