Funding to administer the provisions of the Oklahoma Weather\n\nModification Act shall be provided by an appropriation of up to One\n\nMillion Dollars ($1,000,000.00) made pursuant to law. In addition,\n\nvoluntary participation by insurance companies and other interested\n\npersons, firms or corporations to reach a goal of Two Million\n\nDollars ($2,000,000.00) for a total of Three Million Dollars\n\n($3,000,000.00) for the first year of the program. Goals for\n\nsuccessive years will be Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00) from\n\nthe insurance companies and other interested parties. Voluntary\n\nassessments for insurance companies pursuant to this section shall\n\nbe based on the amount of insurance premiums written in this state\n\non property insurance, as defined in Section 704 of Title 36 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, and casualty insurance as defined in Section 707\n\nof Title 36 of the Oklahoma Statutes, excluding accident and health\n\ninsurance, workers' compensation insurance, burglary and theft\n\ninsurance, leakage and fire extinguishing equipment insurance,\n\ncredit insurance, malpractice insurance, and entertainments\n\ninsurance.\n\nB. Funding assessments to the insurance companies related to\n\nthe provisions of this section shall be administered by the State\n\nInsurance Department. The Insurance Department shall be authorized\n\nto employ one additional full-time employee to perform these duties,\n\nfunding for which shall be provided by proceeds derived from the\n\nprovisions of this act. The State Insurance Department is hereby\n\nauthorized to promulgate rules necessary to implement the provisions\n\nof this section.\n\nC. There is hereby created an account within the Oklahoma\n\nWeather Modification Revolving Fund created pursuant to Section\n\n1085.6 of this title. The account shall be designated as the\n\n\"Voluntary Participation Account\" and shall consist of all monies\n\nreceived on behalf of the Oklahoma Weather Modification program\n\npursuant to this act. All monies accruing to the credit of the\n\naccount are hereby appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by\n\nthe Oklahoma Weather Modification Advisory Board for expenses\n\nrelating to administration, duties, operations, maintenance, special\n\nprojects and acquisitions for the Weather Modification Program.\n\nExpenditures from the account shall be made upon warrants issued by\n\nthe State Treasurer against claims filed as prescribed by law with\n\nthe Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services for\n\napproval and payment.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ec58cfceba950bc5f0f6f4d49ab5dc8705c526f17084c1c5e49712b83c86386f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1801.2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-1b"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
