Stat. tit. 82, § 82-531","heading":"Short title - Definitions","body":"This act may be known and cited as the \"Conservancy Act of\n\nOklahoma\"; the bonds which may be issued hereunder may be briefly\n\ncalled \"conservancy bonds,\" and shall be so engraved or printed on\n\ntheir face; the districts created hereunder shall be briefly termed\n\n\"conservancy districts.\"\n\nThe books and records provided for hereunder shall be termed\n\n\"Conservancy Books of Conservancy Record,\" and such titles shall be\n\nprinted, stamped or written thereon.\n\nWherever the term \"publication\" is used in this act and no\n\nmanner specified therefor, it shall be taken to mean three\n\ninsertions in a weekly paper or in one (1) issue a week for three\n\n(3) weeks in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the county\n\nor counties wherein such publication is to be made.\n\nWherever the term \"person\" is used in this act, and not\n\notherwise specified, it shall be taken to mean person, firm,\n\ncopartnership, association or corporation, other than county, city,\n\ntown or other political subdivision. Similarly, the words \"public\n\ncorporation\" shall be taken to mean counties, cities, towns, school\n\ndistricts, road districts, ditch districts, park districts, levee\n\ndistricts and all other governmental agencies clothed with the power\n\nof levying general or special taxes or assessments.\n\nWherever the term \"court\" is used, and not otherwise specified,\n\nit shall be taken to mean the district court wherein the petition\n\nfor the organization of the district was filed or assigned.\n\nWherever the terms \"land\" or \"property\" are used in this act,\n\nthey shall, unless otherwise specified, be held to mean real\n\nproperty, as the words \"real property\" are used in and defined by\n\nthe laws of the State of Oklahoma, and shall embrace all railroads,\n\ntramroads, roads, electric railroads, street and interurban\n\nrailroads, streets and street improvements, telephone, telegraph,\n\nand transmission lines, gas, sewerage and water systems, pipelines\n\nand rights-of-way of public service corporations, and all other real\n\nproperty whether public or private.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8b415349a24b584cfacbead03f4870af454f0da00da7f9245fe67dbe765913ba","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-526.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-532"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
