Stat. tit. 82, § 82-547","heading":"Irrigation districts - Formation","body":"Districts may be formed under the provisions of this act for\n\nirrigation, or partly for irrigation, by a substantial compliance\n\nwith the terms as near as possible. But no such district in its\n\nconstruction or operation shall in any manner interfere with works\n\nfor the prevention of floods, or the drainage of lands, or\n\nmaterially diminish their protective value. And the court\n\norganizing such irrigation district shall require a statement in the\n\npetition and proof to the effect that the organization and operation\n\nof the same will not materially interfere with any work or plans for\n\nflood prevention, the drainage or protection of lands, or the flow\n\nof waters covered by the terms of a contract. Nor shall any\n\nimprovement under this act deprive the owners of lands lying upon\n\nany stream of water of the ordinary flow in said stream sufficient\n\nfor domestic and stock uses, without compensation therefor.\n\nSubject to the above, the board of directors shall have the same\n\npowers as are herein conferred generally by its provisions as far as\n\napplicable.\n\nSpecial assessments shall be levied and bonds issued as already\n\nprovided, using the words \"Conservancy Special Assessments,\" or\n\n\"Conservancy Bonds.\"","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"cd7fe283605ab03dfc58195dbb5425e020f4fe90810419b433e121b6317248de","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-546","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-548"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
