Stat. tit. 82, § 82-572","heading":"Regulations to protect works - Enforcement - Penalty","body":"Where necessary in order to secure the best results from the\n\nexecution and operation of the plans of the district, or to prevent\n\ndamage to the district by the deterioration or misuse, or by the\n\npollution of the waters, of any water course therein, the board of\n\ndirectors may make regulations for and may prescribe the manner of\n\nbuilding bridges, roads, or fences or other works in, into, along or\n\nacross any channel, reservoir, or other construction; and may\n\nprescribe the manner in which ditches or other works shall be\n\nadjusted to or connected with the works of the district or any\n\nwatercourse therein.\n\nThe construction of any works in a manner harmful to the\n\ndistrict or to any water course therein, and in a manner contrary to\n\nthat specified by the directors, shall be a misdemeanor, and upon\n\nconviction shall be punishable by a fine of not more than Five\n\nHundred Dollars ($500.00). The directors shall have authority to\n\nenforce by mandamus or otherwise all necessary regulations made by\n\nthem and authorized by this act, and may remove any harmful\n\nconstruction or may close any opening improperly made.
