Stat. tit. 82, § 82-635","heading":"Owners may pay assessments in full - Bonding resolution","body":"for unpaid assessments.\n\nWhen the assessment roll is placed on file in the office of the\n\ndistrict, notice by publication shall be given to property owners\n\nthat they may pay their assessments. Any owner of real property\n\nassessed for the execution of the official plan under the provision\n\nof this act shall have the privilege of paying such assessment to\n\nthe treasurer of the board of directors within thirty (30) days from\n\nthe time such assessment is placed on file in the office of the\n\ndistrict, and the amount to be paid shall be the full amount of the\n\nassessment less any amount added thereto to meet interest. When\n\nsuch assessment has been paid, the secretary of the board shall\n\nenter upon the said assessment record opposite each tract for which\n\npayment is made the words \"paid in full\" and such assessment shall\n\nbe deemed satisfied. The payment of such assessment shall not\n\nrelieve the land owners from the necessity for the payment of a\n\nmaintenance assessment nor for the payment of any further assessment\n\nwhich may be necessary as herein provided. Any property owner\n\nfailing to pay assessments in full as provided for herein shall be\n\ndeemed to have consented to the issuance of bonds as provided for in\n\nthis act, and to payment of interest thereon.\n\nAfter the expiration of the period of thirty (30) days within\n\nwhich the property owners may pay their respective assessments, as\n\nlimited herein, the treasurer of the district shall certify to the\n\nboard of directors the aggregate of the amount so paid, and\n\nthereupon the board of directors shall pass and spread upon their\n\nrecords a bonding resolution in which shall be stated the amount of\n\nthe assessment, and the amount thereof paid as aforesaid, and\n\nthereupon the board shall in the same resolution apportion the\n\nuncollected assessment into installments or levies, provide for the\n\ncollection of interest upon the unpaid installments, and they may\n\norder the issuance of bonds (in an amount not exceeding ninety\n\npercent (90%) of the levy) in anticipation of the collection of said\n\ninstallments. The residue of the special assessment so levied (not\n\nless than ten percent (10%) shall constitute a contingent account to\n\nprotect the bonds from casual default, and any part thereof in\n\nexcess of the ten percent (10%) of the next installment of maturing\n\nbond principal, together with the next two installments of\n\nsemiannual interest, if not needed for this purpose, may be\n\ntransferred from time to time to the maintenance fund of the\n\ndistrict.","path":["OK Code","Title 82"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os82.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ad02de68cb9d6045a831346633a2bd8f15ad4b6eeac974d1a460d98318d9fc75","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-634","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-82-82-636"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
