Stat. tit. 82, § 82-861","heading":"District created and territory included - Governmental","body":"agency and body politic - Powers - Designation of land and water.\n\nThere is hereby created within the State of Oklahoma a\n\nconservation and reclamation district to be known as \"Grand River\n\nDam Authority\", hereinafter called the district, and consisting of\n\nthat part of the State of Oklahoma which is included within the\n\nboundaries of the Counties of Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Delaware,\n\nMayes, Muskogee, Ottawa, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Lincoln, Logan,\n\nTulsa, Wagoner, Sequoyah, Haskell, Latimer, Pittsburg, McIntosh,\n\nCreek, Okmulgee, Nowata, Washington and Rogers. Such district shall\n\nbe, and is hereby declared to be, a governmental agency of the State\n\nof Oklahoma, body politic and corporate, with powers of government\n\nand with the authority to exercise the rights, privileges and\n\nfunctions hereinafter specified, including the control, storing,\n\npreservation and distribution of the waters of the Grand River and\n\nits tributaries, for irrigation, power and other useful purposes and\n\nreclamation and irrigation of arid, semiarid and other lands needing\n\nirrigation, and the conservation and development of the forests,\n\nminerals, land, water and other resources and the conservation and\n\ndevelopment of hydroelectric power and other electrical energy, from\n\nwhatever source derived, of the State of Oklahoma.\n\nNothing in this act or in any other act or law contained,\n\nhowever, shall be construed as authorizing the district to levy or\n\ncollect taxes or assessments, or to create any indebtedness payable\n\nout of the taxes or assessments, or in any manner to pledge the\n\ncredit of the State of Oklahoma, or any subdivision thereof.\n\nAll that body of land and the water impounded above the\n\nPensacola Dam, Pensacola Project, shall be hereafter designated and\n\nknown as \"Grand Lake O'The Cherokees\". All that body of land and\n\nthe water impounded above Robert S. Kerr Dam, Markham Ferry Project,\n\nshall be hereafter designated and known as \"Lake Hudson\". All that\n\nbody of land and the water impounded above Chimney Rock Dam, Salina\n\nPumped-Storage Project, shall be designated and known as \"W.
