The Department of Labor shall adopt rules and procedures\n\nrequiring that retail sales to the public of compressed natural gas\n\nand liquefied natural gas used as a motor vehicle fuel are dispensed\n\nin the following manner:\n\n1. Compressed natural gas (CNG) shall be dispensed in gasoline\n\ngallon equivalent (GGE) units. A GGE of CNG shall initially be set\n\nat 5.66 (five and sixty-six hundredths) pounds and shall remain at\n\nthat level until changed by the Department through the\n\nadministrative rules process; and\n\n2. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) shall be dispensed in diesel\n\ngallon equivalent (DGE) units. A DGE of LNG shall initially be set\n\nat 6.06 (six and six-hundredths) pounds and shall remain at this\n\nlevel until changed by the Department through the administrative\n\nrules process.\n\nB. The Department of Labor is hereby authorized and directed to\n\npromulgate rules as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of\n\nthis section. If it subsequently becomes necessary to revise,\n\nthrough rule, the standards established in paragraphs 1 and 2 of\n\nsubsection A of this section due to changes in the energy contents\n\nof motor fuels, the Department shall take into consideration whether\n\nthe National Conference on Weights and Measures has adopted similar\n\nstandards for dispensing CNG and LNG and whether those standards use\n\ndifferent values for GGE and DGE units.
