Stat. tit. 84, § 84-251","heading":"Proceedings authorized - Jurisdiction - Final","body":"determination - Appeal.\n\nThe District Court having jurisdiction to settle the estate of\n\nany deceased person is hereby granted original jurisdiction to hear\n\nand determine the question of fact as to the heirship of such\n\nperson, and a determination of such fact by said court shall be\n\nconclusive evidence of said question in all the courts of this\n\nstate. Provided, that appeals may be taken from said district court\n\nwithin the time and in the manner provided by law as in other\n\nprobate matters. If no appeal is taken the judgment of the district\n\ncourt shall be final, and in all cases appealed from the district\n\ncourt when a final determination thereof is had, same shall be a\n\nfinal determination of such fact of heirship. Provided, that where\n\nthe time limited by the law of this state for the institution of\n\nadministration proceedings has elapsed without their institution, as\n\nwell as in cases where there exists no lawful ground for the\n\ninstitution of administration proceedings in said court, a petition\n\nmay be filed therein having for its object a determination of such\n\nheirship and the case shall proceed in all respects as if\n\nadministration proceedings upon other proper grounds had been\n\nregularly begun, but this provision shall not be construed to reopen\n\nthe question of the determination of an heirship already ascertained\n\nby competent legal authority under existing laws.","path":["OK Code","Title 84"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os84.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9e938429462d5a95b1490fbadf4d07ee1d2ed64395c958820ebb107aae89c766","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-84-84-25","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-84-84-252"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
