Stat. tit. 84, § 84-273","heading":"Petition in escheat by Attorney General or district","body":"attorney.\n\nWhere the Attorney General of this state or the district\n\nattorney of any county shall be informed, or have reason to believe\n\nthat the title to any real or personal property has vested in this\n\nstate, or is subject to sale, under Section 271 or 271.1 of this\n\ntitle, the Attorney General or district attorney shall forthwith\n\nfile a petition in the name of the State of Oklahoma, in the\n\ndistrict court of the county where such property, or any part\n\nthereof is situate, which petition shall set forth a description of\n\nthe said property, the name of the person, or corporation, last\n\nlawfully seized or possessed of the same, the names of the tenants\n\nor persons in actual possession of same, if any; the names of the\n\npersons claiming such property, if any such are known to claim; and\n\nthe facts or circumstances in consequence of which such property is\n\nclaimed to be subject to escheat or sale, praying writ of possession\n\nin behalf of the state.","path":["OK Code","Title 84"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os84.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"34fc9993c215172f064e7d99157eaf91051763e463e5b1424940ff50388411f0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-84-84-271.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-84-84-274"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
