Stat. tit. 84, § 84-902","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act:\n\n1. “Communication technology” means an electronic device or\n\nprocess that:\n\na. allows two or more individuals to communicate with\n\neach other simultaneously by sight and sound, or\n\nb. when necessary and consistent with other applicable\n\nlaw, facilitates communication with a remotely located\n\nindividual who has a vision, hearing, or speech\n\nimpairment;\n\n2. “Electronic” means relating to technology having electrical,\n\ndigital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar\n\ncapabilities;\n\n3. “Electronic presence” means the relationship of two or more\n\nindividuals in different locations communicating in real time by\n\nmeans of communication technology, to the same extent as if the\n\nindividuals were physically present in the same location;\n\n4. “Electronic will” means a will executed electronically in\n\ncompliance with subsection A of Section 5 of this act;\n\n5. “Record” means information that is inscribed on a tangible\n\nmedium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is\n\nretrievable in perceivable form;\n\n6. “Sign” means, with present intent to authenticate or adopt a\n\nrecord:\n\na. to execute or adopt a tangible symbol, or\n\nb. to affix to or logically associate with the record an\n\nelectronic symbol or process;\n\n7. “State” means a state of the United States, the District of\n\nColumbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, or any\n\nterritory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the\n\nUnited States.
