{"data":{"id":"us-or/ors-226.520","jurisdiction":"us-or","citation":"ORS 226.520","heading":"Definitions for ORS 226.510 to 226.640.","body":"As used in ORS 226.510 to 226.640:\n      (1) “Abandoned cemetery” means a cemetery in which remains have not been interred in the last five years and:\n      (a) That does not have a known owner;\n      (b) For which the last known owner is deceased and the title was not conveyed; or\n      (c) That was owned by an entity that no longer exists and that did not convey title.\n      (2) “Cemetery” means a tract of land set apart by deed, will or otherwise, for a burial ground, or for the purpose of interring remains.\n      (3) “Diligent search” means a search reasonably calculated to discover:\n      (a) Graves from the existence of monuments, contour of land and terrain, fencing, curbing and other evidences of the location of graves; and\n      (b) The location of remains and whether or not a given plot contains remains, for which it shall be sufficient to employ the method commonly known as probing.\n      (4) “Municipal corporation” means the governing body of a city incorporated under the laws of this state.\n      (5) “Remains” means the remains of a deceased person.\n      (6) “Suitable location” means a cemetery, now in existence or hereafter established, including a portion of a cemetery subject to the provisions of ORS 226.510 to 226.640, where provision is made for the perpetual care and upkeep of the graves.","path":["06 - Local Government, Public Employees, Elections","21.
