The designation of the deputy director must be by written order, filed with the Secretary of State.\n      (2) Subject to any applicable provisions of the State Personnel Relations Law, the director shall appoint all subordinate officers and employees of the youth authority, prescribe their duties and fix their compensation.","path":["11 - Juvenile Code, Human Services","34.
