{"data":{"id":"us-or/ors-822.250","jurisdiction":"us-or","citation":"ORS 822.250","heading":"State Board of Towing; membership; terms of office; compensation and expenses.","body":"(1) The State Board of Towing is established within the Department of Transportation.\n      (2) The State Board of Towing consists of nine members appointed by the Governor as follows:\n      (a) One tower who holds a towing business certificate issued under ORS 822.205 and who represents a city in Oregon with a population of 100,000 or more;\n      (b) One tower who holds a towing business certificate issued under ORS 822.205 and who represents a city in Oregon with a population of less than 100,000;\n      (c) One tower who holds a towing business certificate issued under ORS 822.205 and who has specialized knowledge in towing equipment and vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 44,000 pounds;\n      (d) One tower who holds a towing business certificate issued under ORS 822.205 and who has specialized knowledge in towing vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,000 pounds or less;\n      (e) One member who represents the insurance industry;\n      (f) One member from a tow program within the Department of State Police;\n      (g) One member who is a chief of police or a county sheriff;\n      (h) One member who is a member of the public; and\n      (i) One member who is a consumer advocate.\n      (3) All members of the board must be residents of Oregon.\n      (4) The term of office of each member of the board is four years, but a member serves at the pleasure of the Governor. Before the expiration of the term of a member, the Governor shall appoint a successor whose term begins on July 1 next following. A member is eligible for reappointment. If there is a vacancy for any cause, the Governor shall make an appointment to become immediately effective for the unexpired term.\n      (5) A member of the board is entitled to compensation and expenses as provided in ORS 292.495.","path":["19 - Utilities, Vehicle Code, Watercraft, Aviation","59.
