{"data":{"id":"us-pa/27-pa.c.s.-4301","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"27 Pa.C.S. § 4301","heading":"Definitions.","body":"The following words and phrases when used in this chapter shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:\n\"Commencement of construction.\" The moment when a grantee issues a full notice to proceed order to the construction contractor.\n\"Decommissioning plan.\" A document on file with the county recorder of deeds detailing the steps that will be taken to decommission a solar energy facility and the amount, form and timing of financial assurance.\n\"Department.\" The Department of Environmental Protection of the Commonwealth.\n\"Grantee.\" The owner of a solar energy facility on leased property.\n\"Professional engineer.\" As defined in section 2(e) of the act of May 23, 1945 (P.L.913, No.367), known as the Engineer, Land Surveyor and Geologist Registration Law.\n\"Solar energy facility.\" The development or construction of a facility that utilizes solar energy to produce or distribute energy.\n\"Solar energy facility agreement.\" A lease agreement between a grantee and a surface property owner that authorizes the grantee to operate a solar energy facility on leased property.","path":["Title 27 - ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES","PART IV ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION","CHAPTER 43 DECOMMISSIONING OF SOLAR ENERGY FACILITIES"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=27\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=43\u0026sctn=1\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-08-31 (Statute Update stamp, 27 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:32:03Z","sha256":"31e4ff87c10dd4625982850e874db68814c09766d3d97daedbd09c7f038f6aef","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/27-pa.c.s.-4113","next":"us-pa/27-pa.c.s.-4302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
