{"data":{"id":"us-pa/3-pa.c.s.-4805","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"3 Pa.C.S. § 4805","heading":"Agricultural Business Development Center Advisory Committee.","body":"(a) Establishment.--There is established the Agricultural Business Development Center Advisory Committee to advise the secretary with respect to the secretary's responsibilities under this chapter.\n(b) Membership.--The advisory committee shall consist of the following members:\n(1) The secretary, who shall serve as chairperson.\n(2) The secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development or a designee.\n(3) The dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University or a designee.\n(4) One representative selected annually from each of the following organizations:\n(i) The Pennsylvania Bankers Association.\n(ii) A farm credit association servicing clients in this Commonwealth.\n(iii) The Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts.\n(5) The following individuals appointed by the secretary:\n(i) A licensed veterinarian whose practice includes food animals.\n(ii) A person certified to create nutrient management plans.\n(iii) A certified public accountant.\n(iv) A financial planner.\n(v) An attorney.\n(vi) A farmer who has experience with a farm transition or diversification of the agricultural production of a farm.\n(c) Terms.--\n(1) The term of office for each advisory committee member under subsection (b)(5) shall be three years, except that the initial terms shall be staggered as follows:\n(i) Two members shall each serve a term of one year.\n(ii) Two members shall each serve a term of two years.\n(iii) Two members shall each serve a term of three years.\n(2) Advisory committee members may be appointed to successive terms at the discretion of the secretary, except that no member may serve more than two three-year terms. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments.\n(d) Duties.--The advisory committee shall meet as often as necessary to advise the secretary on satisfying the purpose of this chapter and establishing and awarding grants under this chapter.\n(e) Expenses.--Advisory committee members shall serve without compensation but shall be entitled to expenses which are reasonable and necessary in the performance of their duties.","path":["Title 3 - AGRICULTURE","PART VI DEVELOPMENT, MARKETING AND PROMOTION","CHAPTER 48 AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=03\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=48\u0026sctn=5\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-01-08 (Statute Update stamp, 3 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:30:13Z","sha256":"f5136689860d1e48614d51c6c25c855ac04f282cbc6cd502ca112ead3824f908","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/3-pa.c.s.-4804","next":"us-pa/3-pa.c.s.-4806"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
