{"data":{"id":"us-pa/53-pa.c.s.-6115","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"53 Pa.C.S. § 6115","heading":"Failure to comply with a code requirement.","body":"(a) Offense defined.--The owner of real property commits the offense of failure to comply with a code requirement if all of the following apply:\n(1) The owner of real property has been convicted of a second or subsequent serious violation of the same provision of a municipal code for the same property.\n(2) The violation poses a threat to the public's health, safety or property and the owner has not taken a substantial step to correct the violation.\n(3) The violation is considered a public nuisance and the owner has not made a reasonable attempt to correct the violation.\n(b) Grading.--Failure to comply with a code requirement shall constitute a:\n(1) Misdemeanor of the second degree if the offense is a second conviction of a serious violation of the same provision of a municipal code relating to the same property.\n(2) Misdemeanor of the first degree if the offense is based on three or more convictions of serious violations of the same provision of a municipal code relating to the same property.\n(c) Definition.--As used in this section, \"code requirement\" shall mean a building, housing or property maintenance code or ordinance of a municipality.","path":["Title 53 - MUNICIPALITIES GENERALLY","PART V PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS, UTILITIES AND SERVICES","SUBPART A GENERAL PROVISIONS","CHAPTER 61 NEIGHBORHOOD BLIGHT RECLAMATION AND REVITALIZATION","SUBCHAPTER B ACTIONS AGAINST OWNER OF PROPERTY WITH SERIOUS CODE VIOLATIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=53\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=61\u0026sctn=15\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-08-24 (Statute Update stamp, 53 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:34:08Z","sha256":"9addb47298e7540f50928dbb1dc3ca780213867aa2ba6383b3be18252791e2b1","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/53-pa.c.s.-6114","next":"us-pa/53-pa.c.s.-6131"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
