{"data":{"id":"us-pa/57-pa.c.s.-311","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"57 Pa.C.S. § 311","heading":"Notarial act in another state.","body":"(a) Effect.--A notarial act performed in another state has the same effect under the law of this Commonwealth as if performed by a notarial officer of this Commonwealth if the act performed in that state is performed by any of the following:\n(1) A notary public of that state.\n(2) A judge, clerk or deputy clerk of a court of that state.\n(3) An individual authorized by the law of that state to perform the notarial act.\n(b) Prima facie evidence.--The signature and title of an individual performing a notarial act in another state are prima facie evidence that:\n(1) the signature is genuine; and\n(2) the individual holds the designated title.\n(c) Conclusive determination.--The signature and title of a notarial officer described in subsection (a)(1) or (2) conclusively establish the authority of the notarial officer to perform the notarial act.","path":["Title 57 - NOTARIES PUBLIC","CHAPTER 3 REVISED UNIFORM LAW ON NOTARIAL ACTS"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=57\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=3\u0026sctn=11\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2024-09-13 (Statute Update stamp, 57 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:34:18Z","sha256":"769122d9fa2b73cd37d51a13d2b9bef51bbb56311096798be8227002d6c12126","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/57-pa.c.s.-310","next":"us-pa/57-pa.c.s.-312"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
