{"data":{"id":"us-pa/57-pa.c.s.-312","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"57 Pa.C.S. § 312","heading":"Notarial act under authority of federally recognized Indian tribe.","body":"(a) Effect.--A notarial act performed under the authority and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized Indian tribe has the same effect as if performed by a notarial officer of this Commonwealth if the act performed in the jurisdiction of the tribe is performed by any of the following:\n(1) A notary public of the tribe.\n(2) A judge, clerk or deputy clerk of a court of the tribe.\n(3) An individual authorized by the law of the tribe to perform the notarial act.\n(b) Prima facie evidence.--The signature and title of an individual performing a notarial act under the authority of and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized Indian tribe are prima facie evidence that:\n(1) the signature is genuine; and\n(2) the individual holds the designated title.\n(c) Conclusive determination.--The signature and title of a notarial officer described in subsection (a)(1) or (2) conclusively establish the authority of the notarial officer to perform the notarial act.","path":["Title 57 - NOTARIES PUBLIC","CHAPTER 3 REVISED UNIFORM LAW ON NOTARIAL ACTS"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=57\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=3\u0026sctn=12\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2024-09-13 (Statute Update stamp, 57 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:34:18Z","sha256":"8d83813d3e7b5fbeaaac752dbc5870b57255759c8dfa59d511cad8c8807f7fc0","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/57-pa.c.s.-311","next":"us-pa/57-pa.c.s.-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
