{"data":{"id":"us-pa/61-pa.c.s.-4702","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"61 Pa.C.S. § 4702","heading":"Public hearing required.","body":"(a) General rule.--\n(1) A private vendor who intends to submit a bid to the department pursuant to a request for proposal for beds in a community corrections facility shall conduct a public hearing in the municipality of the proposed site.\n(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to a bid submitted as the result of a renewal for an existing contract at a facility which has been in use for a minimum of five years.\n(b) Conduct of hearing.--At the public hearing, the private vendor shall explain the operation of the community corrections facility and shall permit public comments relating to the site and operation of the facility.\n(c) Transcript.--The private vendor shall submit a transcript of the public hearing to the department as part of its bid pursuant to the request for proposal.\n(d) Department review.--The department shall review the transcript and shall consider the substance of the public comments when awarding a contract pursuant to the request for proposal.","path":["Title 61 - PRISONS AND PAROLE","PART III INMATE CONFINEMENT","CHAPTER 47 COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS FACILITIES"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=61\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=47\u0026sctn=2\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-08-31 (Statute Update stamp, 61 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:34:38Z","sha256":"7097326cc25173a4b9963f866ddbf388975a94bd2b2ca229d38cfda92690c114","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/61-pa.c.s.-4701","next":"us-pa/61-pa.c.s.-4703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
