{"data":{"id":"us-pa/73-pa.c.s.-4707","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"73 Pa.C.S. § 4707","heading":"Entry of premises.","body":"(a) General rule.--Upon order of the board of health or upon order of a health officer if there is no board of health, the following individuals may enter a premises in the township where an infectious or contagious disease or a nuisance detrimental to the public health is suspected and examine and abate the disease or nuisance:\n(1) A member of the board of health.\n(2) A health officer.\n(3) An employee of a board of health or a health officer.\n(4) An agent of a board of health or a health officer.\n(b) Search warrant.--If entry to the premises under subsection (a) is prevented, the board of health or health officer may obtain an administrative search warrant from a magisterial district judge with jurisdiction over the premises upon a showing of any of the following:\n(1) Reasonable standards and an administrative plan for conducting inspections.\n(2) The condition of the premises or general area and the passage of time since the last inspection.\n(3) Probable cause of a violation of a law specified in section 4706(b) (relating to powers and duties of board of health).","path":["Title 73 - TOWNSHIPS","PART II FIRST CLASS TOWNSHIP CODE","CHAPTER 47 PUBLIC HEALTH"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=73\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=47\u0026sctn=7\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-06-23 (Statute Update stamp, 73 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:35:38Z","sha256":"01a27fd8830135ac61836c6f39ffd9e667225079cbd4381723d247b88c51144f","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/73-pa.c.s.-4706","next":"us-pa/73-pa.c.s.-4708"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
