{"data":{"id":"us-pa/73-pa.c.s.-7312","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"73 Pa.C.S. § 7312","heading":"Appointment, terms and vacancies.","body":"(a) Scope.--This section applies to a shade tree commission established under section 7311(a) (relating to right of establishment).\n(b) Composition.--The board of commissioners shall appoint three or five shade tree commissioners. Each shade tree commissioner must be a resident of the township.\n(c) Terms.--\n(1) If three shade tree commissioners are appointed:\n(i) one initial term shall be for three years;\n(ii) one initial term shall be for four years; and\n(iii) one initial term shall be for five years.\n(2) If five shade tree commissioners are appointed:\n(i) one initial term shall be for one year;\n(ii) one initial term shall be for two years;\n(iii) one initial term shall be for three years;\n(iv) one initial term shall be for four years; and\n(v) one initial term shall be for five years.\n(3) A term for a subsequent appointment shall be for five years.\n(4) A vacancy shall be filled by the board of commissioners for the unexpired term.\n(d) Compensation.--Shade tree commissioners shall serve without compensation.","path":["Title 73 - TOWNSHIPS","PART II FIRST CLASS TOWNSHIP CODE","CHAPTER 73 PARKS, RECREATION CENTERS, SHADE TREES AND FORESTS","SUBCHAPTER B SHADE TREE COMMISSION"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=73\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=73\u0026sctn=12\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-06-23 (Statute Update stamp, 73 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:35:38Z","sha256":"1d96f7c69938326fcf60ecc9157a9b7bc4e7b47d267bb3e39fa8a3d88cbe6ce3","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/73-pa.c.s.-7311","next":"us-pa/73-pa.c.s.-7313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
