{"data":{"id":"us-pa/75-pa.c.s.-3724","jurisdiction":"us-pa","citation":"75 Pa.C.S. § 3724","heading":"Use of registration plate flipping device.","body":"(a) Prohibition.--A person may not possess, operate a motor vehicle with, purchase, install, possess for the purpose of installing, manufacture, sell, offer to sell or otherwise distribute a registration plate flipping device.\n(b) Penalty.--A person who violates subsection (a) commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, pay a fine of $2,000.\n(c) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this subsection unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:\n\"Registration plate flipping device.\" A manual, electric or mechanical device designed or adapted to be installed on a motor vehicle and:\n(1) switch between two or more registration plates for the purpose of allowing a motor vehicle operator to change the registration plate displayed on the operator's motor vehicle; or\n(2) hide a registration plate from view by flipping the registration plate so that the registration plate number is not visible.","path":["Title 75 - VEHICLES","PART III OPERATION OF VEHICLES","CHAPTER 37 MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS","SUBCHAPTER A OFFENSES IN GENERAL"],"source_url":"https://www.palegis.us/statutes/consolidated/view-statute?txtType=HTM\u0026ttl=75\u0026div=0\u0026chpt=37\u0026sctn=24\u0026subsctn=0","current_through":"2026-08-31 (Statute Update stamp, 75 Pa.C.S.)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T16:35:49Z","sha256":"30f7255c0015d5bfc89c1e29a58820eda82f8a7d02c962afaf885c47098e7177","source_id":"us-pa","stale":false,"prev":"us-pa/75-pa.c.s.-3723","next":"us-pa/75-pa.c.s.-3731"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
