Laws § 10-21-28.1","heading":"Emergency declaration temporary non-liquidating receivership transition provisions.","body":"(a) Notwithstanding § 10-21-28, the court may for cause apply this chapter to a receivership for which a receiver was appointed before June 20, 2022, if the owner would otherwise be eligible for a temporary non-liquidating receivership.\n(b) Unless extended by the general assembly, the emergency declaration provisions apply only to a receivership in which the court first appoints a receiver:\n(1) If because of the COVID-19 pandemic, during the period beginning on the effective date of this chapter [June 20, 2022] and ending on June 30, 2022; or\n(2) If because of any other emergency, during the period beginning on the date the emergency declaration is issued and ending ninety (90) days after the end of the emergency.","path":["Title 10 Courts and Civil Procedure — Procedure in Particular Actions","Chapter 21 Rhode Island Commercial Receivership Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE10/10-21/10-21-28.1.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:55:09Z","sha256":"9647895f89218cac857358e5078bd1977f114841fba57e59f902c2e9d1878b7c","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-10-21-28","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-10-21-29"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
