Laws § 11-37.3-2","heading":"Prohibition from employment.","body":"(a) Any entity that is a child safe zone is prohibited from employing a person who is an offender.\n(b) The individual who made the final hiring decision for an entity that is a child safe zone that knowingly employs an offender as prohibited in § 11-37.3-3(a) shall be subject to a fine of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each day the offender is employed.\n(c) Any offender who knowingly misrepresents or omits his or her sex offender registration status to obtain employment in a child safe zone shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction, be subject to imprisonment for not more than five (5) years, a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000), or both.","path":["Title 11 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 37.3 Child Safe Zones"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE11/11-37.3/11-37.3-2.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:55:16Z","sha256":"b6f0ccb714082871ec1d7daa43f3ab21182a567a19c64b3937e3e0753284f85b","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-11-37.3-1","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-11-37.3-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
