Laws § 11-47-26","heading":"Penalties for violations.","body":"Unless otherwise specified, any violation of any provision of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or imprisonment for not more than five (5) years, or both; provided, that a violation of any of the provisions of §§ 11-47-1 — 11-47-34 with relation to air rifle, air pistol, “blank gun,” “BB gun,” or other instrument other than a machine gun, shotgun, rifle, or pistol, from which steel or other metal projectiles are propelled, shall for the first offense be punished by a fine of not more than fifty dollars ($50.00) and for the second or any subsequent offense by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100), or by imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days, or both; and provided, further, that the provisions of chapter 1 of title 14 shall apply in the case of any person under the age of eighteen (18) years.","path":["Title 11 Criminal Offenses","Chapter 47 Weapons"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE11/11-47/11-47-26.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:55:19Z","sha256":"e0c8e1a2987a831009f0562877f70155d8086d69634ef3752e788de368ddb505","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-11-47-25","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-11-47-27"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
