Laws § 13-8.2-5","heading":"Powers and duties of the board.","body":"(a) The board shall have the power to issue and establish criteria to determine eligibility for issuance of the certificate of recovery \u0026 re-entry;\n(b) By an affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the board to issue a certificate of recovery \u0026 re-entry to any person previously convicted of a crime in any jurisdiction;\n(c) To create all applications, and certificates necessary for the purposes of this chapter upon forms prescribed by the board. Such forms relating to certificates of recovery \u0026 re-entry shall be distributed by the chairman of the board;\n(d) To promulgate all necessary rules and regulations to carry out the intent of this chapter; and\n(e) Any information contained within a certificate of recovery \u0026 re-entry as created in subsection (c) of this section shall be limited to:\n(i) The applicant’s name;\n(ii) Date of birth;\n(iii) Certificate number;\n(iv) Issue date;\n(v) A statement that “The board has determined that up to and including the issue date stated above, this individual has met the necessary standards of recovery \u0026 re-entry to hold the certificate”; and\n(vi) Authentication phone number for the department of corrections.","path":["Title 13 Criminals — Correctional Institutions","Chapter 8.2 Certificate of Recovery \u0026 Re-Entry"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE13/13-8.2/13-8.2-5.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:55:31Z","sha256":"3caa1032dd38aef82dc8ed6606ed9d27837369605cd735dd859058453828172e","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-13-8.2-4","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-13-8.2-6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
