Laws § 16-11.2-3","heading":"Continued professional development of teacher assistants.","body":"(a) As a condition of continued employment every person employed as a teacher assistant shall participate in ongoing professional development.\n(b) Each school district or institution employing teacher assistants shall maintain records on a teacher assistant’s completion of:\n(1) Training for the work assignment;\n(2) Continuing education and relevant coursework;\n(3) For any person hired after January 1, 1999, a certificate of completion from a training program which complied with the teaching assistant training program standards developed by the department of elementary and secondary education pursuant to § 16-11.2-1; and/or\n(4) The requirements set forth in § 16-11.2-2(4).","path":["Title 16 Education","Chapter 11.2 Qualifications of Teacher Assistants"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE16/16-11.2/16-11.2-3.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:55:44Z","sha256":"151f8a20c994bfc0b750848f424f910db29821ee041f7ed437566e99be9be1f8","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-16-11.2-2","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-16-11.2-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
