Laws § 16-63-3","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For the purposes of this chapter the following terms have the following meanings:\n(1) “Adult education” means all the concerns and activities within the definition in § 16-58-2;\n(2) “Board” means the board of regents for elementary and secondary education created pursuant to § 16-60-1;\n(3) “Bureau” means the bureau of adult and vocational education within the department;\n(4) “Commission” means the Rhode Island adult education commission established pursuant to § 16-58-1;\n(5) “Commissioner” means the commissioner of the department of elementary and secondary education;\n(6) “Coordinator” means the state coordinator of adult education;\n(7) “Department” means the department of elementary and secondary education;\n(8) “Office” means the office of adult education within the bureau.","path":["Title 16 Education","Chapter 63 Adult Education [See Title 16 Chapter 97 — The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE16/16-63/16-63-3.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:55:54Z","sha256":"80f5c7dababab5c3c0b886086c10de7a71a3f1db10a7b99d5f01a730ad9d7c9e","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-16-63-2","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-16-63-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
